Great portable storage. USB power is nice though it needs a powerful USB and sometimes the Y USB cable for dual USB power. I've dropped mine on wood before and hasn't broken. Easy to replace internal drive if it fails.

As with any HDD it is important that out of the box it is easy to use. I purchased this for my PS4 and have never looked back dumping a huge amount of titles on it with the new firmware update functionality. This has completely added longevity of my original release day PS4. Awesome!
I have been using WD products for a long time and I have never been let down. They have never had any issues. I just keep getting bigger ones.
Increased capacity is expected with storage updates, but Western Digital has added some useful features for its lastest My Passport Studio. We miss the second FireWire port, but were impressed by the labelling system of the Western Digital My Passport Studio 640GB.
The drive is big enough , easy enough, and make back up simple
i like the design and the drive works well, however, it doesn't seem to be compatible with my NAS.
works well
not compatible with my NAS
Ever-tumbling prices of solid-state disks (SSDs) make them tasty propositions for users looking to speed up their systems by installing an SSD as a boot drive. The 2.5in form factor of most consumer SSDs also make them eminently suitable for portable-storage purposes, given the innate shockproof...
Passport is the rather apt name chosen by Western Digital for its range of portable hard drives. Not much bigger than the 2.5in notebook drives they contain, these pocket-sized storage devices are now more pocketable than ever, thanks to their extra-rounded corners – not to mention attractive...
Large capacity; Personalised e-label display; Three connection options: FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0; Straightforward software for labelling; locking and backup; 256-bit hardware encryption
Only one FireWire port – no daisy-chaining; No carry case in the box
The Western Digital My Passport Pro is a portable RAID array with a Thunderbolt port. Sadly, the My Passport Pro only has a Thunderbolt Port; there's no USB port, so you'll need a computer with a Thunderbolt port if you want to use it.
If you want to store a lot of data, and maybe even use colors to categorize your data, the new My Passport portable drive from WD is for you. The drive has up to 4TB of storage space (also available in 3TB, 2TB and 1TB) and comes in six vivid (mostly) color options: black, yellow, red, white, orange...
The new WD My Passport portable drive has lots of storage space, good performance and supports strong encryption; It's available in some vivid color options and comes in an eye-catching design
There's no USB-C (so no future-proofing) and the high-capacity versions of the drive are bulky
