In order to download the alignment software that allows this drive work correctly under older OS's like XP, Western Digital forces people to create an account, give them all their personal info, and register the drive itself by entering the serial number.
Seems to work okay; Decent enough performance for 5400 rpm; Hasn't generated any S.M.A.R.T; errors (so far)
Not as quiet as I was lead to believe; I can definitely hear it humming and hissing away inside my netbook, whereas I couldn't hear the original drive at all (160 gig seagate); -1 egg for the noise level
