Excellent laptop works extremely well!!! Would recommend this laptop to anyone it's fast and I haven't had any issues with it at all.
Pros: -128GB SSD is really fast. Cons: -Build quality of £400 PC -Screen has the worst viewing angles I have seen in years -Touchpad right button is constantly acting up In conclusion- Toshiba- never again.
A slim and extremely light magnesium case makes the Toshiba Portégé Z30 one of the most mobile notebooks of its range. The lavishly equipped 13-inch laptop further scores with long battery runtimes and great performance - but is this enough to justify the expensive price of almost 1,500 Euros...
Light magnesium case; Thorough workmanship; Docking-station port; Good input devices; Matte and bright display; High application performance; Long battery runtimes; A compact; light and powerful device; the Portégé is the optimal everyday companion for everyone that needs to have their business...
No WWAN module; Missing DisplayPort; Loud under full load; Viewing angle dependent TN panel; Only 12-month warranty; High price; Minor improvements such as a high-grade IPS panel or a more sturdy keyboard would have given the notebook the last touch; which we missed on some occasions.
This is a very nice little ultrabook that packs some decent performance into its small frame. You get a Intel i5 processor along with 8GB of DDR3 memory although it lacks any dedicated video memory.
A painfully outdated display and absurd price doom the Z30 from the start.
Lots of connectivity; Great battery life; Strong processor performance
Build quality is mixed; Lackluster touchpad; Outdated 1,366 x 768 display; Hard drive performance falls behind; Poor value
The term "business laptop" used to evoke images of bulky, drab slabs of plastic, something that Toshiba is staying clear of with its consumer-inspired Z-range of enterprise notebooks. The 13.3-inch Portege Z30 is joined by new 14-inch Z40 and 15-inch Z50 models in Toshiba's Tecra range.
Review When Toshiba Portégé turned up and I lifted the out of the box, I started laughing. Now, I'm not suggesting that the arrival of Toshiba Ultrabook is a joke, quite the opposite in fact. What amused me was just how light it was – a mere 1.2kg for this 13.3-inch machine.
This business-oriented ultrabook is well-built, thin, light, and comfortable to use. The latest "Haswell" CPU makes it fast, but a low-resolution screen diminishes its overall value.
Thin; light; and easy to hold; Comfortable keyboard and touch pad; Durable magnesium alloy construction; Strong performance and battery life; DTS sound system; Ample expansion options; Fingerprint reader; Useful utilities and apps
Low-resolution; lackluster screen
I've had this laptop for just over 2 months now.
The light-weight design met my expectations, the keyboard is good, but not great - though compared to other products of similar size I'm really happy with the keyboard; The screen tilts back enough that it isn't a problem
One of the reasons I purchased this product was due to the poor screen resolution (I know that sounds backwards); but the idea was that this would be a feature that didn't provide me much value but would extend the battery life due to not having to power pixels that I didn't need to start with.
The Toshiba Portege Z30 is a business-oriented 13-inch Ultrabook. That gets you the slim profile and light body of an Ultrabook, but with the extra security and office-friendly features you'd expect of a business laptop. The Toshiba Portege Z30 has the design specs of an Ultrabook.
