The TicWatch Pro is a smartwatch for those who want style and battery life at an affordable price. While the Mobvoi brand doesn't have the glamour or appeal of more established brands like Guess or Tag Heuer , the Pro offers style and function at a considerably lower cost than other Wear OS options...

The Mobvoi TicWatch Pro does bring something new to the Wear OS smartwatch world. It offers a way to extend battery life on a device that needs exactly that enhancement. While that intention and effort is valiant, it doesn't add that much more life than, say, a Samsung Gear S3 is capable of, unless you switch over to the Essential Mode. The glitchy OS is another concern, but is something I expect should be improvedin time. Still, for early adopters it's a bit of a gamble. That said, this is a good looking and solid watch with lots of features for the price, and it could represent a new way of delivering the Wear OS experience to the wrist. TicWatch Pro is that watch too. It’s hard to think of many smartwatches at this price point that offer anything as complete.

Apps load a bit slowly; Will be a little too chunky for some; No LTE so no true wireless freedom;

The Mobvoi TicWatch Pro wants to solve the one problem Wear OS doesn’t really have: battery life. While some older LTE-enabled Wear OS watches might struggle to get through a day of normal use, most of them are plenty capable of handling a full day of step tracking, Lyft hailing, and message sending. The TicWatch Pro is no different in that regard. Use it as a smartwatch and you’ll probably need to plug it in before hitting the sack.

If you're looking for a different take on the common smartwatch, you'll be hard pressed to find a better example today than the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro.

After messing around at the lower end of the wearables market, Mobvoi has seemingly come out of nowhere in the last 12 months to deliver a raft of exciting, and sought after devices including the Google Assistant powered TicHome Mini , as well as the Ticwatch S & E running Wear OS.

There’s ups and downs when it comes to the Ticwatch Pro. For starters, the design leaves a lot to be desired and the watch will be too heavy and chunky for some. However, we love the innovative dual-screen design so you can easily get information with the basic LCD panel and then use the OLED display like normal the rest of the time. This works better outdoors, saves battery and means you still have a functioning watch when the battery is too low. Performance isn’t the best and we found step counting a bit out of whack. That said, if you want something cheaper than many rivals with GPS, NFC and a heart rate monitor then this could be a good choice.
