I previously had a Tefal iron which was over 10 years old and just replaced it with this model. It's a great iron, but it works differently from the older one. If the new iron is not set to the hot cotton setting, then if you want steam you need to push the STEAM button. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it is fine .... although I do prefer the iron automatically using steam. It's also not as well balanced as the older model ..... and the steam button does get in the way because it is on the under-side of the handle. I love the iron, but I would have preferred it if it worked similarly to the older models - I don't think these changes make the iron any better to use.
