Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD

If you're shopping for a wide-angle prime lens for your full-frame camera , or one that covers a standard-angle field of view when paired with an APS-C image sensor, you should give strong consideration to the Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD ($599).

Quite sharp; Minimal distortion; Wide aperture; Optically stabilized design; Very close focus capability; Weather-sealed; Available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony SLRs

Edge performance lags behind center at wide apertures; Heavy for its size

This lens is a great buy

I'm very pleased with the Tamron SP 35mm F/1.8. I use it on my Nikon D500 & Nikon D810 and I've had very good results. I've heard some people report that the focus is slow on this lens however, I don't seem to have any issues with focusing with this lens.

Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Review

This wide angle lens from Tamron sports a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, Vibration Compensation, silent internal focusing with full time manual override, moisture sealed construction with a moisture repellant fluorine optical coating as well as eBAND and BBAR lens coatings to help suppress ghosting...

Excellent sharpness in the centre; Good build quality; Effective Vibration Compensation system; Moisture resistant construction; Low distortion; Resistant to flare; Relatively lightweight

Seems to be priced a little high at launch when compared to similar lenses (although this may change in time

I can't believe it's a Tammy!

Tested on a D800 by a very fussy amateur photographer, who has returned more lenses than has witnessed Southwest Trains cancel the 6.53 to Waterloo (which is lot). I have owned 1 Tamron lens in the past. The 70-300mm VC. Which was OK actually, considering the price.

I love this lense

At first I was looking for a 24 1.4, but the cost was huge and I couldn't find one with all the accessory pro's I wanted, then I found this, and I decided that it was close enough and the price was good. I made the right choice.

focal length; sharpness; weather resistant

Meh. It's ok for the price. Moderate CA/fringe. Did a side by side with another 35mm and returned this one. If you must have a fx full frame on a budge, it works.

Tamron 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens Review

Tamron brought smiles to the world when they introduced a pair of record-setting lenses, the Tamron 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens and the very similar Tamron 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens , with both sharing the record for being the widest aperture image stabilized lenses available at the time of their...

Tamron SP 35mm f1.8 Di VC USD and SP 45mm f1.8 Di VC USD Lens Review

To make a better lens, one that avid photographers might even be inclined to leave on their DSLR camera permanently, Tamron set aside all of their former notions about lens design and construction and went straight back to the basics with the new Tamron SP 35mm f1.8 Di VC USD (Model F012) and SP...
