Had to return. Once the unit was set up, my dead zones showed full bars but nothing would load. It was as if I was getting a false signal. HD gave full refund.

Unlike Windows 10, it's not plug&play in Linux Ubuntu 18.04, but works fine after installing driver for Realtek RTL8812AU chipset. This requires internet connection by other means, such as ethernet cable.
Simple plug and play device.A little on the big side size wise.
Very good for the price,it is a huge upgrade over my old wireless adaptor. Not necessarily my first choice though if i had another chance to buy a wireless adaptor.
-Fast; -5G; -Affordable; -Strong connection
-Sometimes randomly disconnects
This is a great AC-class adapter, but the very nature of AC limits its usefulness. If you are in the room with your router, then you will enjoy a very fast connection. As you move further away and put walls between the adapter and the router, the connection speed quickly falls.
Nice appearance if somewhat large; Glossy black finish; Fast AC adapter connects at up to 867 Mbps on the 5 Ghz band; Has USB version 3 connector and included USB3 extension cable; USB v3 is the current standard and should be the default version on all quality networking equipment going forward.
Large adapter could potentially block access to a neighboring USB port on a laptop; it does include an extension cable which could help in this circumstance. The glossy black finish isn't a big deal to me either way but it is a magnet for fingerprints and dust.
Installation of the adapter was easy and it works well. We do not have an AC router, so we could not test the higher speeds, but we got full performance through our B/G router. It seems like it will hold up over time. Overall a great product!
This adaptor out of the box is not configured for Windows 10. Unfortunately I didn't realise that for the first two times I installed, uninstalled and then installed again. I had to go the manufacturers website and manually install the driver / utility for windows 10.
To compliment your high speed wireless modem router, TP-LINK have launched the Archer T4U, a wireless Dual Band USB adapter that supports both 5 and 2.4Ghz bands plus high speed USB 3.0 connectivity for additional performance.
I originally bought this in an attempt to not snake a Ethernet cable around my house to my HTPC but the dongle drops connections every five to ten minutes. I tried to troubleshoot it and the dang thing refuses to stay connected. Ended up snaking the cable after all.
The set up of this adapter was very easy. The best thing about set up is the usb cord that is included. This allowed for easier placement and not worrying about having an object sticking out of your usb drive and possible getting damaged.
