Purchased this router in July of 2017. Worked great until a lightening storm last night (Sept 2018). Although it was plugged into a surge protector, their tech support told me it WAS NOT covered by the warranty. No other electronics plugged into the same surge protector were damaged.
Nice router, fast, stable connection. Did not have any issues so far. My smartphone reaches 115mps/23mps on 5G (with 100/20 fibre). Great features vs price.
As I have been helping out in our church's junior high school youth group for the past few years, I have learned it can be important to use the same medium to talk to he group, especially as it will probably be different from what you use or what you used to use at their age.
The TP-Link Archer C2300 ($149.99) is a moderately priced midrange router that offers solid close-range throughput performance and MU-MIMO data streaming. It also has robust antivirus and malware protection, Quality of Service options, and parental controls, and it is very easy to install and configure. However, its long-range throughput and file-transfer performance come up short compared with our Editors' Choice, the Asus RT-AC86U. Packed With Features The C2300 ($139.00 at Amazon) looks similar to its older sibling, the Archer C3150, which we reviewed a few years back. Half of the two-toned black enclosure has a matte textured finish and the other half is glossy. It measures 1.4 by 8.5 by 6.5 inches (HWD) and has a strip of LED indicators on the top of the router that shows status for power, both radio bands, internet and Ethernet activity, WPS activity, and USB activity. On the left side of the router are WPS and Reset buttons, a Wi-Fi On/Off button, a USB 2.0 port, and a USB...
The TP-Link Archer C2300 may not be quite as fast as some of its competitors, but it's packed with customization and safety features.
Good close-range throughput in testing; Easy to install; Built-in virus protection and parental controls; Supports MU-MIMO data streaming
Weak long-range throughput performance; Middling file-transfer speeds
After doing a little research into routers after my current router died, I settled on TP-Link c2300, and I am glad that I did. The setup was incredibly simple. The cloud based settings and app make everything as simple as possible.
It may not be correct to call TP-Link Archer C2300 the successor of since it follows a rather different path (it's more of a budget-friendly Archer AC3150 v2). So it is a very relevant device for 2017, sporting powerful internal hardware, a good wireless performance, a user-friendly interface...
Excellent Wireless Performance; User Friendly Interface; MU-MIMO; Link Aggregation To A NAS; Smart Connect
The Case Is Prone To Overheating; The Design Is Not Original
Not only is TP-Link's Archer C2300 the fastest router we've seen, but it's also small, unobtrusive and chock-full of high-end features. It can protect the network from viral and hacker attacks, and you can customize it the way you want.
Top performer; Inexpensive; Built-in antivirus protection; Two-year warranty
Runs hot
I have been using the TP-Link Archer C2300 for a couple of weeks and like other TP-Link Wi-Fi routers I've used, this one just works. It is simple to setup and use. Setting up the TP-Link Archer C2300 for the first time is easy and you can utilize either the smartphone app (Tether) or a web-based...

In December 2017 was in the market for a new router. I have been a Netgear user most of my life. Saw the TP-link Archer C2300 and it seemed to have good reviews, quick speed and extended coverage. The coverage was a problem with our Netgear and would not reach my daughters room.
Loses 5G connection; Unreliable
