The TCL C715 is a solid mid-range performer with a tempting spec. The QLED panel delivers dazzling picture, with vibrant colours bolstered by Dolby Vision HDR, and low input lag makes this a cracking choice for gamers. One for the upgrade shortlist.

The TCL C71's picture requires a bit of calibration, but once done, it offers appealing image quality. It isn't bright enough for true HDR, but the gaming performance is fast and the sound system may negate the hurry for adding an external sound system.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and while it's mostly been great, there are two issues that big me. Firstly, there doesn't appear to be any option to disable the inbuilt speakers. I use a sound bar connected with optical, and there is an echo from the inbuilt speakers with no option to disable them. Secondly, even when the TV is in standby, it powers on the soundbar, and keeps changing its input back to optical. This prevents me using the soundbar for music playback when the TV is idle. Two small but incredibly irritating issues.

Took a while and a lot of online research to change picture settings, but happy with the result. Preset picture options all seem to have the colour too saturated, looking overly bright and intense. May be difficult for anyone who isn't relatively tech savvy. Soundbar can be connected using a HDMI cable, make sure you connect to the ARC HDMI socket. This allows the tv to automatically turn on/off the soundbar when it is in use, and mutes the TV's built-in speaker. Also allows you to control tv and soundbar with just the tv remote. Android system is very responsive and easy to use. For Freeview TV, pressing the guide button on remote will bring up a complicated Freeview app, which will not work if there is no internet connection. You can change it to a regular tv guide which is much simpler and user friendly, by going into settings and turning off HBB input. Very happy with the tv once all settings are correct

Bought Tv at the weekend and it looks great needed some personal adjustments but that ok most do .But I wish I ask more questions on tv position as looking at it on the side does make the picture appear paler .which is a disappointment
