Needed this for a backup set of drives and for that it serves the purpose. Couple of things to note: you cannot power this off independently as the power is controlled by its master unit, and it is a little on the noisy side when hard at work (fan noise and hdd reverb T think). Also I was stuck for a suitable raid option and went for Raid0 over the 4 drives I had - resulting in 4 x 6TB showing as one volume. I have one space left which I was hoping to add for another backup task BUT it looks as though you are restricted to just the one Volume on this extension.
