We thought hard; the DS2413+ really is good

NAS devices comes in all shapes and sizes, and there's lots of choice. But when you want to use more disks you quickly end up looking at rack-mounted models. These are generally large and heavy and loud, so not so great for office environments.

We have 40 iosafes for our stores and 2 DS2413+ for our corporate office to manage the other diskstations as well as back up our other servers. While we dont see too many problems from them, the times that we do, it is crippling since the diskstations are being used as server backup targets.

DMS is easy to install and use; Quick to get started and set up almost anything you need

Complete lack of support; I have put in 4 support tickets so far and have only heard back from 2 of those; Of those 2 they took at least 72 hours to get back to me; Although they offer a support line, they will only ask you to put in a ticket with no escalation procedures.

Excellent NAS and the applications are amazing. Perfect for Movie DB and streaming across the home. I recommend but with the right HDDs as I had issues with the Seagate 4TB.

For serious data users you really will find this difficult to beat. Robust and well made. Feels a quality item. Easy to set up and operate. It is a little noisy with 12 drives running. Transfer speed is good. Can be expanded if you ever reach its limit. Quite expensive.

I bought this item for my home use and am extremely happy with this product. It is fast and reliable. Have used it for over 6 months and has never missed a beat. I have currently 8 drives in use with 4 bays empty.
