Super Mario Odyssey Review: Mario's greatest adventure yet

It isn't often that a game like Super Mario Odyssey comes along. I mean this both literally and figuratively. Even since Nintendo started the 3D Mario series with 1996's Super Mario 64 , we've received precisely three other entries: Super Mario Sunshine and both Super Mario Galaxies .

Possibly the best platformer game ever made; Cappy adds so much to the game in terms of mechanics and movement; Beautiful; varied kingdoms to visit and explore; Music is top-notch; Hundreds and hundreds of power moons to collect; expanding gameplay significantly

Motion controls feel shoehorned in at spots

Super Mario Odyssey Review

The unveiling of Super Mario Odyssey was accompanied by the jarring image of Mario cavorting with realistically-proportioned humans in an obvious stand-in for New York City. For many, this triggered uncomfortable flashbacks of Sonic striking up romantic relationships with disturbingly lifelike...

it is a very fun open world Mario. if u just beat the bosses it wont take long to beat just a few hours. But if u look for all the moons and coins it will take a long time. have 50hrs on it and still haven't found everything, but I don't use internet to find answers I always find myself.

Flipping Out For Super Mario Odyssey

Mario has been through a lot. He has ventured through lava-filled castles no less than 64 times, he's walked on literal Sunshine, and has been across the Galaxy and back again. Mario Odyssey is the latest entry in the popular 3D Mario series, featuring collectathon gameplay very reminiscent of Super...

Super Mario is Super yet again

I pre ordered this and wasn't disappointed I received a cap which resembles the one used by Mario in the game alongside the game which I plan to give to my nephew for Christmas the game itself is a fresh interpretation of the Mario franchise the levels so far seem clever in design and as it's 3D it...

When Nintendo announced the Switch, all eyes were on the Mario game unveiled during the keynote. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was an excellent launch title, one that gave the Nintendo Switch a big early boost, but Mario is Nintendo's biggest IP and everyone wanted to see what Nintendo...

Super Mario Odyssey Review

With the Nintendo Switch riding high on the success and popularity of games like Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2, and with the way that developers are starting to flock to the platform, all it's missing is one more big hit to put the icing on the (wedding) cake.

Cappy adds a lot to Mario's skillset; Exploring each new freeform open world kingdom; Capturing other beings and objects adds huge variety; So many wonderful homages; Photo mode is a lot of fun

Peach is the helpless damsel once again; Some kingdoms look odd for a Mario game; Controls can be fiddly and complex for precision platforming; though Assist Mode and co-op will help beginners
