Super Mario Odyssey Review

Mario's first turn on the Switch is fun, but lacks the innovation and creativity of Nintendo's best.

Lots of cool places to explore; Well-polished gameplay; Endgame provides great puzzle variety; Full of fun details; nods to past games; Highly accessible for new players

Often feels somewhat simplistic; Not as innovative as other Mario games; Controls and camera can be imprecise; frustrating

Super Mario Odyssey Switch Review

The release of the Switch has brought a Nintendo who is confident and actively out to prove why they are some of the best in the business. It is exciting to see Nintendo in this state, and that attitude is gushing into their current releases for the successful hybrid console .

Review: Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey had me grinning from ear to ear nearly the entire game. It was a joy to play and another classic in the already classic filled Super Mario lineup. This was the true sequel to Super Mario 64 that Mario fans have been waiting for and a game that you will surely be coming back to...

Each world is beautifully crafted and fun to explore; The added mechanic of the possession power adds a fun layer to the game; The storyline is surprisingly engaging for a Mario game; Mario controls great with tons of new movesets; The soundtrack is incredible

Refreshing Take on The Super Mario World

You don't have to be a past fan of the mario franchise to enjoy this masterpiece. It has an easy to follow control mechanism which when mastered makes for some acrobatic mechanics that flow smoothly. There is the tragic yet comedic storyline between Mario, Peach and Bowser and there is tonnes of exploring to do post-game as well as during the main missions. It is game of the year material.

Super Mario Odyssey review (NS)

Super Mario Odyssey is arguably the ideal showpiece for the Nintendo Switch hardware. Whenever I play it, I start to believe that if there's anything truly important a game must accomplish during this console generation, the Switch platform and capable software developers can deliver it in spite of...

Super Mario Odyssey

In several ways, Super Mario Odyssey seems too eager to please. The game's basic storyline-Mario must rescue Princess Peach from Bowser-remains obligatorily familiar, no doubt to avoid ticking off a legion of traditionalists.

Hats off to this fantastic adventure!

Let me just start off by saying that Super Mario Odyssey is fantastic. Simply fantastic! This game is oozing whimsical charm and you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least try it! With that said, I must confess that I was actually a little skeptical at first.

Retro meets reality.

Brilliant game which made an excellent gift! A hard to put down game with a good level of nostalgia. Cleverly crafted game with the added bonus to play as classic Mario in the 3D world.
