Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection

T he Street Fighter series represents a lot of different feelings for gamers all over the world. For those of us who grew up with the series, fond memories of being in the arcade and piling in both hours and money into the local arcade is part of growing up.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection

As we played the Switch version of the game for this review, let's start with a couple of notes specifically for those who own Nintendo's hybrid console. This twelve-game collection, which is full of extras, is releasing with the same price tag as Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers...

Street Fighter may have been surpassed by the likes of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter in Capcom's enviable stable of IP, but for gamers of a certain age, the merest mention of the name itself is enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand to attention.

Triple-decade knockout! - Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection review

Fighting games have come a long way in the past thirty years. It's hard to believe that even through the revolution of 3D graphics and arena fighters, the 2D fighter is still the most popular fighting genre.

Matchmaking streamlined; loads each game quickly; Arcade-perfect; even down to the original glitches; Detailed and dense museum showcasing Street Fighter history

Lacks home-bonuses in favor of the arcade-perfect experience; Lack of a training mode for 8 of the games in the collection

We've seen more than 30 years of Street Fighter being one of the premier fighting game franchises. Sure, the series has fallen off in recent times , but being relevant in the industry for three decades is nothing to scoff at.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (Nintendo Switch) Review

Even when taking into account that some of these games are not very different from one another, the content on offer in Street Fighter II 30th Anniversary Collection presents arguably the best value for money in that specific genre on Nintendo Switch and the bonus features, like museum and sprite...

Still the king of 2 player fighters

Great collection. The original street fighter hasn't aged well. The other games including the original street fighter 2 are still great to play. This will keep me happy for weeks.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (Switch)

I always felt like I missed out a bit when it came to Street Fighter. During my childhood, I only ever had Street Fighter II on the Super Nintendo, and not the one with the cool boss characters I could play as. The boring one.
