Steelseries Spectrum 5xB Headset Review

Setting up the 5xB headset was very simple. Just put the in -line RCA jacks on the back of your tv, plug in the USB connector to the Xbox and then the spectrum audio mixer into the controller. It was just that easy.

Steelseries Spectrum 5XB Review (360)

The quality of Steelseries headsets finally given a chance to have an impact on the XBOX Readers of this site will know I am quite partial to the headsets that Steelseries sell. This is because they tend to bridge the gap between price, quality and performance very well.

Good sound quality; LiveMix is great

Needs a lead from the controller to a free USB port AND your TV; 5XB headset is not best that Steelseries do

SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB XBOX 360 Headset Review

2 Flares 2 Flares × We have been very impressed with SteelSeries' products in the past and we're not alone; some of the most highly rated gaming teams only use their products when competing professionally. So we're always excited when they offer us their new hardware to review.

Good for $40

I purchased this headset brand new for $34 to replace my dying turtle beach headset. The package also included an adapter which I would say is necessary for TV use. Not sure how good it would be for computer gaming, the cord is only 3 ft long.

Finally a pair of Headphones that are kid proof

I have two spirited children who do not pay attention to their surroundings which leads to the destruction on average 2.5 pairs of headphones a year. The pros for these headphones: 1) Flexible retractable microphone; 2) blocks out room noise; 3) very comfortable; 4) clothe covering for wire; 5)...

Nice "concept"

It's a steel series!!! With my personal experiences with them I'm not pleased (mouse and headset). Both are cheap plastic that look good unboxing, yet lack quality and malfunction soon after use. Will NEVER buy another steel series product, they are just made so cheap!

Light, this headset is extremely light; Mic, retractable in ear cup is very handy and convenient; Sound gets loud, very loud; Ability to break down mic for transport is nice

Cord from mic to mixer is way to short; Mixer doesn't fit to controller snugly; Makes humming noise that never goes away; Live mix cuts too much game sound out when people speak making it extremely hard to hear anything in game; Mixer concept and live mix are good IDEAS!

SteelSeries are well known for their PC gaming peripherals including keyboards and top of the range headsets. In fact we have reviewed many of them in the past, including the Gold Award winning

SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB Review

Most of us, despite our adoration of the personal computer as a gaming platform, also own a console or two. There are many things that a console does well that it's difficult to find with a home computer.

SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB

Although the SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB gaming headset is compatible with PCs, and is perfectly good at playing music, it really comes into its own if used when playing games online on Xbox 360.

SteelSeries Spectrum 5xB Xbox 360 Gaming Headset Review

Back in July of last year Steelseries announced two headsets specifically designed for Xbox 360 gaming: the Spectrum 5xb and 4xb , and over the last couple of weeks we've had our hands on the former of these to see how well it matches up not only to the pretty good pedigree that Steelseries have...
