SteelSeries Rival Review

The differences between laser mice and optical have blurred over the past couple of years. While many will opt for a laser mouse because a laser mouse is much more precise, in theory at least, and is much better at tracking on a wide range of surfaces while the optical mouse are generally cheaper...

+ Very comfortable in prolonged use (right handers; + Highly Customisable; + Textured; rubber non-slip surfaces; + Fairly priced

Very Good Mouse, One Complaint

I bought this mouse a while ago, and it works like a charm, but I do have one problem. This problem is the soft-touch plastic wore out were my thumb rests. Rather than that, the mouse is very good. I recommend it.

SteelSeries Rival Review – Back to the core of a great gaming mouse

The Rival may not have as many "bling blings" as the Sensei (which has an LCD display and a 32-bit ARM processor), but it gets back to the core of a great gaming mouse: design, performance, and comfort.

Review: Steelseries Rival

Steelseries has a reputation for no-nonsense, solid gaming performance. Recent keyboard efforts may not have lived up to our expectations, but we've always had a strong respect for its mice, especially the Sensei, which is one of the most precise, full-featured gaming devices we've had the pleasure...

WOW

If you like Dota 2, you will definitely like this mouse, like I did, plus you get an item for Doom. Its called Hell's Glare, looks very good on him.The best part about this mouse is the customization.

SteelSeries goes back to the design room for a right handed mouse with plenty of new features. It's time to see if the Rival can stand its ground.

Very comfortable

Light, comfortable, accurate, fancy glowy colors. If it's comfortable in your hand, there is no reason not to buy this.

I have large hands and use a finger tip grip; This is a big mouse and I love the feel of it in my hand; The rubber texture is nice and makes it very easy to pick it up during fast paced FPS games.

I had a couple of failures and had to exchange it for another one; Could have been a problem with my motherboard's USB port, but not sure

SteelSeries Rival Review - As Good as It Looks

The SteelSeries Rival optical gaming mouse ($59.99) is a perfectly good product, but it should have been better. Despite an ingenious design and a smart array of features, something about both the mouse and the software that accompanies it feels halfhearted.

Comfortable design with excellent grips; Smart button layout; Comprehensive software

No DPI indicator; Weak illumination; Nothing to set it apart from other mice

One of the best mice, and at such a low price

One of the best mice, and at such a low price. I play a lot of FPS and the mouse works great with them, also fits nicely in my hand and gives a smooth performance. The RGB illumination are a great visual touch too.

This right-handed FPS mouse is ergonomically sound, with a strong optical sensor, great precision, and separate profiles for each game or application you run.

Solid ergonomic design; Inexpensive; Angle snapping; acceleration; and deceleration; Excellent optical sensor; Stores profiles for each application and game

Only switches between two dpi settings; No lift-distance control; Macro creation lacks depth; No sleep control when mouse not in use
