Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Lens - Brand New review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Lens - Brand New review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Lens - Brand New review

Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.

Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life

It's just "this year's iPhone"

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Lens - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Review

Sony is expanding its premium G Master lens line with an f/2.8 zoom that covers an ultra-wide angle field of view. The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM ($2,199.99) is smaller and lighter than competing lenses for SLR systems—a benefit of a mirrorless system design—while maintaining the dust- and moisture-resistant build that is a key feature of the FE lens system. It matches a premium design with top-end optics, delivering strong results both in the field and in the lab. It's an expensive lens, but backs up its price with excellent peformance, and earns our Editors' Choice. Design The 16-35mm measures 4.8 by 3.5 inches (HD), weighs 1.5 pounds, and supports 82mm front filters. It's bigger all around than Sony's own f/4 take on the design, the Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS, which measures 3.9 by 3.1 inches, weighs 1.1 pounds, and supports 72mm front filters.
