Super sharp. Great zoom lens. A little on the pricey side from Sony but all in all very nice.

REVIEW: Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Review

Another lens in the premium G Master range, suitable for all full frame FE mount and APS-C E mount Sony cameras, this new 16-35mm f/2.8 could be ideal for those looking for a wider standard zoom.

Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Lens Review

The Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Lens fills a critical position in serious and professional photography kits based on the Sony E-mount cameras. The build quality seems solid and the weather-sealed box is checked. The ultra-wide through moderately wide focal lengths are among the most-useful available.

Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM ( SEL1635GM ) - Review / Test Report

If you want to play a role in the professional (full format) market you have to offer a variety of lenses and at the center of such a system, there's the holy trinity of f/2.8 zoom lenses - a 16-35mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8.

Light and High Resolution Lens

It is a light and high resolution lens, better than Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM Lens. I use it for the wedding events with great results.

Outstanding Detail

I'm very happy with the detail in my photos. I had the Sony Zeiss f4 16-35mm previously, with which I was very happy. However, the the photo quality I'm getting now from the G Master version is definitely superior. I don't know if it's worth all the extra money, but I do think this is a better lens.

Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Review

Sony is expanding its premium G Master lens line with an f/2.8 zoom that covers an ultra-wide angle field of view. The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM ($2,199.99) is smaller and lighter than competing lenses for SLR systems—a benefit of a mirrorless system design—while maintaining the dust- and moisture-resistant build that is a key feature of the FE lens system. It matches a premium design with top-end optics, delivering strong results both in the field and in the lab. It's an expensive lens, but backs up its price with excellent peformance, and earns our Editors' Choice. Design The 16-35mm measures 4.8 by 3.5 inches (HD), weighs 1.5 pounds, and supports 82mm front filters. It's bigger all around than Sony's own f/4 take on the design, the Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS, which measures 3.9 by 3.1 inches, weighs 1.1 pounds, and supports 72mm front filters. The F2.8 zoom is part of the G Master series. It's Sony's designation for its most premium lenses, which are designed to deliver the...
