Sony's pocket rocket is a compact with almost no compromises

As you can see from this review, the Sony RX100 IV is a little powerhouse that is not only capable of delivering outstanding image quality for its sensor size, but also superb 4K and slow motion video.

The RX100 has long been Sony's flagship Cyber-shot compact. It's the leader in its point-and-shoot squad, gathering up cutting edge features and high-performance components and stuffing them neatly into a pocket-sized camera.

Simply put, the Sony RX100 IV is the best pocket camera money can buy today. Of course, it takes a lot of money to buy this camera, which is probably the only criticism that I have for the RX100 IV. At $950 retail, the potential audience is somewhat limited by the size of one's wallet.

The most significant changes are the slow motion video feature and the high speed shutter speed of 1/30,000, along with a new auto-focusing system. Sony has kept the compact size and who can fault it for keeping a winning formula?

There is one area where the new camera has gone slightly backwards, and that's battery life. The RX100 IV is quoted at a fairly lacklustre 280 shots compared with the Mark III's (albeit not that much better) 320.
