Sony A7 Mark III Camera Body ILCE7M3B review
As it was launched in February 2018, the Sony A7 III is getting on a bit but it remains an excellent all-rounder. Its high-quality 24Mp full-frame sensor delivers superb images in a wide range of conditions and its viewfinder and screen provide a good preview so you know what you're going to get...- Good-quality 24Mp full-frame sensor
- Excellent autofocus system
- Attractively priced in the full-frame market
- Minimal use of the screen's touch-sensitivity
- Tilting rather than vari-angle screen
- Complex menu
Sony a7 III Review
The Sony a7 III is a well-priced, well-rounded camera suitable for all kinds of photography. Twenty-four megapixels of resolution is more than sufficient for most tasks, and the 693-point autofocus system and 10 frames-per-second burst speed help the a7 III keep up with fast action. Video quality and feature set is another strong point, though some operational lag, a slightly low-resolution viewfinder and unintuitive video autofocus may turn off some users.- Generalist photographers, wedding, event and action shooters and those that need high quality video.
- Those that need more resolution for detailed scenes or large prints, those that need ultimate build quality for harsh shooting conditions.
Put simply, the Sony a7 III is a new benchmark for full frame cameras due to its compelling combination of value and capability – and the fact that this series of cameras has come so far in less than five years is impressive in its own right.
- Generalist photographers
- wedding
- event and action shooters and those that need high quality video
- Those that need more resolution for detailed scenes or large prints
- those that need ultimate build quality for harsh shooting conditions

Until now, Sony has been the only mirrorless camera manufacturer to offer cameras with ‘full-frame' sensors; but that's about to change. On 23 August Nikon will unveil its first mirrorless camera, which will have a full-frame sensor and a new lens mount.

This is my first experience with Crutchfield, they did a wonderful job packing and shipping my camera with loving care!- Great catalog to choose from! Fast and safe shipping of your goodies!
- I would like to see more of 3rd party lenses to choose from for my Sony A73!
This camera is revolutionary good. Sony has really moved the limit of what an entry level camera can do. With a price tag that guaranteed shaking Nikon's and Canon's marketing departments, a professional camera has been released in the budget package.
