Sony Alpha A6400 review

  • Decent burst shooting speed
  • Bright viewfinder
  • Good video features
  • Good value for the spec

Sony A6400 review: A star of track and field

Faster, brighter and a little vainer, the A6400 is a great little camera for the creative photographer and videographer. It builds on the success of its predecessors with a very accomplished focus tracking system, fast focus and more adaptable tilting rear screen.
Pros:
  • Subject tracking AF system
  • 180 degree tilting LCD screen for front of camera viewing
  • Button and dial customisation
  • Great low light performance
  • Highly accomplished metering
  • Pro video outputs and control
Cons:
  • Lacks built-in stabilisation of A6500
  • Top rather than side tilting screen
  • Screen blacks out at top burst setting
  • Menu system still seems cluttered
  • Slow start-up with power zoom
  • Rolling shutter issue at 4K
