Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

What Sonos is really getting at is the same niche that Apple and Google plan to attack with their upcoming HomePod and Google Home Max speakers , respectively. It’s too soon to say exactly how those—or the aforementioned Echo Plus—compare to One from an audio standpoint, but Sonos will be...

Much richer audio quality than an Amazon Echo or Google Home; Compact; understated design is unlikely to look gaudy anywhere in the home; Mic array; while not perfect; is generally reliable for picking up voice commands; Can tap into virtually all the same Alexa “skills” as an Echo; $199 price point...

No way to control Spotify with voice commands at launch; no stated plan for Apple Music, Tidal, or Google Play Music voice commands on the horizon, No Bluetooth or wired audio connectors, Redesigned Sonos mobile app can be a bit clunky, No way to pair Sonos One and Sonos Play:1 speakers together in...

Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

Although there are a ton of smart speakers available these days ( Amazon Echo , Google Home , FABRIQ Chorus come to mind), the one drawback has been the audio quality. Most people agree that the audio quality is just average with most of these speakers.

Incredible audio quality; Amazon Alexa built-in; Sleek; modern design; Built-in microphones do a good job of picking up commands; Spotify voice control and Google Assistant coming in future

Expensive; No support for Audible audiobooks; Can’t form stereo pair with existing PLAY:1; Not a portable speaker and cannot be controlled via Bluetooth

Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

Wireless speaker company Sonos recently debuted voice support in two forms: pairing its speakers with an Amazon Alexa-enabled device like an Echo or Dot, and with Sonos’s first voice-enabled speaker, the Sonos One .

Great sound; super easy-to-use; stellar price point; voice control.

Apple Music can’t be started with voice control; no Siri support.

Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

I’m an avid Alexa user. I use Alexa to control my lights, my Dyson, and even my air conditioner. I even miss her when I’m staying at a hotel. But until now I’ve been using the Amazon Echo Dots and Echo Taps to boss her around.

Sonos speakers are known for their sound quality and ease of use. Will the addition of a smart assistant change that?

Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

Sonos and Alexa, in One device. Thanks to the superior sound quality, it's the best Echo device yet – and with Google Assistant support promised soon, it's the One speaker to rule them all.

Sonos Sub (Gen3) - White SUBG3AU1 review

Late last month, Sonos , the maker of the Sonos Wireless HiFi System, announced it latest addition to its set of wireless speakers, the Sonos Sub . Unlike the Sonos Play:3 or Play:5, which were pretty complete wireless speakers, the Sono Sub is a 16 kg heavy dedicated subwoofer which is designed to...

Sonos One Smart Speaker - Black SONOSONEB review

Despite all the minor niggles and frustrations, the Sonos One has become an integral part of my Sonos system. Alexa’s various minor talents such as setting alarms and reminders, or quickly converting ounces to grams while my hands are covered in flour are used every single day and the ability to...

Sonos One review: Superb sound with added bonus of Alexa and Google Assistant

For Sonos fans and music fans after a smart speaker that delivers excellent sound quality for its size, a great design and fantastic integrated Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, the Sonos One won't disappoint. It is an excellent smart speaker with great sound.

Great design; Excellent sound quality; Brilliant Alexa and Google Assistant integration; Voice control; Seamless multi-room audio; Compatible with over 100+ music services; Easy setup;

Voice control for some music services not as comprehensive as Amazon Music; Apple Music or Spotify; Expensive compared to other smart speakers; No Alexa calling compatibility;
