Sonos is a brand that markets primarily on convenience, and their products do exactly what they advertise, which is to produce very reasonable sound quality with an extremely easy wireless setup.

The Sonos One is the best smart speaker we’ve tested. It’s more expensive than rivals but really is worth the extra for a huge difference in sound quality - not forgetting about design and build, too. Alexa and Google Assistant voice control are great - although we'd like more Sonos-specific voice controls.

Sonos was slow to deliver a voice-controlled smart speaker, but with integrated Alexa (and Google Assistant arriving soon) in what amounts to a redesigned Play:1, they've created a nearly irresistible, low-cost intro to their wireless ecosystem.

Since it debuted in late 2017, the Sonos One ($199 at Audio Advice) has been my favorite smart speaker overall. It costs more than the Amazon Echos ($34 at Amazon) and Google Homes of the world, but it's still relatively affordable and sounds much better. The first smart speaker designed with music in mind, the One still rocks the socks off any competitor in its price range.

Though the Sonos One is currently limited to only Alexa, thats sure to change with future updates promising Airplay and Google Assistant compatibility. For now it's an annoying hurdle but once it gets fixed, this could be the speaker to beat.
