The Slik Pro 700DX is a solid aluminum tripod at an affordable price. At under $100, you might not expect a whole lot of professional feel from a tripod; however, Slik has managed to put together a top notch tripod for those of us on a budget.

This is my second tripod. I also have the Dolica that everyone starts with from Amazon. The slik is rock solid. I bet you could get tack sharp long exposure photos during an earthquake. It is quite large and heavy though.
Solid as a rock
heavy
I bought a new camera last year and figured it was time to upgrade my tripod too.
very sturdy platform for cameras up to 15lbs; durable and well built
weighs 7 pounds; requires optional column for low level work
First, I have to say, for the price, you won't find any tripod better than this one. I have used some tripods in $300's range. I found the performance is no better than this one. The tripod is extremely sturdy and can easily hold 300 f2.8 lens. You can also reverse mount the center column.
Very slick look; stable and sturdy; easy of use
The header is bit heavy
I love the Slik tripods! The legs are 3 sections verses most other manufacturers which are 4 sections. Makes it much easier to handle. This is a HEAVY tripod. If you don't need to put a ton of equipment on it then it is way of an over kill, and day to day handling will be cumbersome.
My experience with tripods before purchasing the Slik was with light duty, inexpensive units that maxed at sixty-one or two inches high. They were sloppy, not entirely stable, and the heads were not suited to fine adjustments.
this is a solid tripod, and has a very high top end, which i have taken advantage of for video over the crowd... love that it is so solid, but is heavy enough that not sure about long hikes with it. but, who wants a flimsy, unstable tripod not me. very well built it seems.
I have used this product to shoot landscapes, and for panning. It has a very smooth swivel for panning, and is very sturdy for long exposures. It is extremely well built. While it is a bit heavy, I like the solid feel of it.
Definitely getting what you are paying for. It is actually in fact incredible value for money as this tripod is proper quality.
Can handle a larger camera as it is very solid and sturdy; the tripod can reach a height of 74 inches as well as reaching an incredibly low height with the legs shortened to the max for those lower shots; its a lovely looking tripod as well; -pretty smart and professional I reckon
Pretty heavy - so it might be a bit tough to take with you on a hike or out in nature where you are moving around a lot
I brought this after my Manfrotto bit the dust, and so far have been very impressed. This isn't a lightweight tripod, but what would you expect for a tripod of its size (fully extended its taller than me - and I'm 6ft 3in).Comes with a 3 way pan and tilt head, which although is fit for purpose I
Adjustable Leg Angles; Easily Adjusted; Good Footing; Locks In Tight; Smooth Movement; Tall
