Skagen Falster 2 review

While the design is great and the new Wear OS update is a plus, the Falster 2 isn’t quite the home run we hoped for. The one-day battery life is a disappointment. Despite adding GPS, NFC and waterproofing, the performance is a little sluggish and it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. This is more a criticism of the software than the hardware itself which is a shame as the Falster 2 is one of the nicest looking smartwatches around, notwithstanding its flaws.

Skagen Falster 2 review: Scandi sophistication, but lacking in power

The dated chipset and so-so battery life lets this otherwise sophisticated smartwatch down. But if you're after a fuss-free design and you can handle a little bit of lag and every-night charging then the Skagen Falster 2 is lovely to wear.

Lovely minimalist design; Interchangeable straps; Good display; Good software experience; Waterproof;

Battery life not the best at around 15hrs per charge; Old hardware is underpowered so there are some lag issues;

Skagen Announces Feature-Packed Falster 2 Smartwatch

BERLIN—The first Skagen Falster ($189.99 at Amazon) smartwatch was a slim and attractive wearable with a full touch screen, but we felt it was too expensive, especially since it lacked many features sported by its competitors. Skagen seeks to correct that with the Falster 2, announced here at IFA. The second-generation Falster smartwatch has a similar minimalist design as its predecessor, with a sleek metal body, a variety of slim watch straps (including a magnetic steel mesh one), and a circular touch screen. Changes include revamped minimalist dials that should help save battery life, and a pair of programmable pusher buttons that can be enabled to add functionality to various apps. Taking a peek under the hood shows more than just a pretty face. To bolster the paucity of features on the Falster, Skagen has packed it with everything you expect from a high-end smartwatch. "The Falster 2 represents everything Skagen stands for: beautiful, design-focused products that are functi...

It's a nice idea.... but does come short in every department

It's pretty for a smartwatch although like every single other smartwatch does looks like a round computer strapped in your wrist. I still don't understand the cylinder form factor when they can at least bevel slightly the bottom part to give the impression that's thinner and more like a watch. The battery is terrible. It's very sluggish. Google pay doesn't work, music apps don't work. Now concerning Wear OS, it's still bad, no swim routine? no sleep tracking? I would not recommend this particular watch to anyone and I wouldn't recommend any Wear OS watch to anyone. In my opinion in order to be a "smartwatch" one should be a "watch" first, and this is not. In my experience with both Wear OS watches, Apple watch and some other solutions that differ the best would be the other solutions like for example Withings products that you charge once a month or amazefit solution with 1 to 2 weeks of battery life while checking every other box.

I really like this watch

This watch has been a very good purchase for me. I had previously bought an android watch from another company and it was very poor quality and kept quitting on me. This watch has worked well and not given me any problems at all. I only wish that the band were a little longer.

Probably the best looking smartwatch there is...

Sure, it may be a bit laggy, but for showing time continuously with "always on", getting and replying to notifications, and tracking your activity and heart rate - it's possibly the best looking option out there. And for the discounted price it's a no-brainer. One thing to mention; some third-party watch faces may use significantly more battery than the ones from Skagen, so if you're getting less than a day worth of battery, try using a Skagen watch face and see if it improves battery life.

It's ok. Not my favorite watch.

Not fully compatible with iOS. Apps are limited and I cannot receive text or outlook notifications...this was the initial reason I purchased. Battery life is inadequate so Don't expect to do much with the watch. Overall, it looks nice but I would not buy again.

Love my Falster 2 - gorgeous + well made

Have used smart phones since Moto 360, and love my new Falster 2. I don't notice as lag time problem that I've read complaints about, but yes, the tiny lithium battery simply has a hard time holding a charge for a day. I hear the Skagen 3 is better, but it's a tiny irritation for the love I have for my watch. Love the Google Pay feature and the heart monitor - fast and accurate.
