I know that Sigma has authorized this teleconverter for only 2 lenses, but I have used this on my Sigma 120-300 2.8 v2 and my Sigma 70-200 EX and it works great. I use it on a Canon 70D and did some micro adjusting, but when zeroed in, it is fabulous.
TC's are always made for specific lenses be it OEM or third party TC's. Even the a novice knows that a TC will degrade picture quality. You can expect a good 2x TC to degrade your image quality by 25% and a 1.4x to degrade about 5-8%. You also will lose two stops of light.
Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Strong Construction
Poor in Low Light
I bought the new TC-2001 Tele-converter from Adorama and use it with Sigma's 120 to 300mm F2.8 Sport Zoom Lens and I also have both of the old APO Tele-converter (2X & 1.4X). The new version TC-2001 is much better at focusing on deer fur, which the old APO 2X had issues with.
