Sennheiser HDV 820
Two words: Punchy + authoritative. That's how music sounds coming out of this thing. Low end has a nice snappy grunt to it. Highs are clear and concise. Mid range is natural. I listen to mostly prog rock and metal: Tool, TesseracT, Karnivool, etc.

Capable but with a small DSD playback bug
The Sennheiser HDV 820 is a beauty to look at and it's very easy to use. The amplifying part is very well done, making it worth the dollars. The sound is quite satisfying, though not that superb (when compared to Chord Hugo 2 or even Chord Dave).
