I would buy these again. The real test is would I in 12-18 months. Here's hoping.

As described in other reviews, these are a bit on the noisy side; Not to the point of being unbearable, but, the sound level rivals the HDD in my cable company-provided DVR; For me, not a deal breaker, but, worth noting

For the money you cannot find a better $/GB out of high capacity NAS specific hardware. It does grumble a bit louder than my 3TB WD Red but read times are vastly improved for my multimedia NAS. Love it!

I bought 4 of this 8TB hard drives for my QNAP NFS to replace the 4 Toshiba 3TB hard drives which were running out of storage space. They work excellently without any problem. They have even improved my communication speed by 60% between my PC and the NFS.

Bought two for a RAID 1 mirror, very decent read/write speeds at an average of 250MB/s when copying to them from two sources at once.

Plenty of capacity and fast in use
