Good contrast, colour and responsiveness

It's not the best at anything, but it's pretty good at everything. feature request: For the love of god, please allow me to use the front lighting independently of the back lighting, currently the only options are 'back' and 'front and back'.

Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor review: One glaring problem

Original review below Curved gaming monitors are no gimmick. These wraparound screens are a fun way to immerse yourself in gaming worlds without the need for clumsy VR headsets. Samsung’s new Odyssey G7 stretches the technology even further. For the first time, the screen’s curve, now 1000R, finally matches the curvature of the human eye. It’s true gaming immersion at its finest. I checked out the 32-inch variant of the Odyssey G7 monitor, which comes with a 1440p native resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. It’s certainly a unique gaming monitor, but with a widely reported G-Sync flicker issue and an $800 asking price, the Odyssey G7 still has a lot to prove. Is the Samsung Odyssey G7 worthy of a spot on your desk? When it comes to design, Samsung has done an admirable job. As you unpack the monitor, the first step is to secure the triangle base to the stand’s neck, after which you slot the top of the neck into the back of the monitor, secure four screws, and lift the entire assembly o...

Excellent color reproduction; Beautiful design; Great curve for gaming immersion; Fast 240Hz refresh rate;

Broken adaptive sync; Low static contrast performance; Curve off-center;

Absolutely stunning monitor.

Got this monitor as a replacement for a good old Samsung 1080p panel and was skeptical about it's curved nature but liked all the other features like HDR. But god dang I had no reason to be skeptical. It's an amazing monitor for entertainment use and has absolutely amazing colors out of the box with very little calibration needed. The curve is just right for pc monitor and wraps around you eye sight just right and in gaming and movies you wont even notice the curve. I have been enjoying this monitor so much and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.... in fact I'm planning on getting my gf one.

A great monitor for gaming and general use

Great monitor, haven't experienced any of the flickering issues that people seem to report. The preset color profile is much better than most and provides a great picture straight out of the box. be careful picking up the monitor after assembling as the cover at the back pops of easily. The only downside is that the cover for the ports doesn't fit when you have the usb hub cable plugged in.

Amazing monitor

A truly amazing monitor. I have come from a 2560x1440 1ms flat screen and the difference is incredible. The curve takes a little getting used to, but now I prefer it over anything else. Have put it on a monitor stand instead of using the desk stand and it looks terrific. Gaming on it is extremely smooth! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Amazing monitor, despite the high price!

I bought this to replace a 1080 60hz monitor I was using and (obviously) the difference is incredible. Barely any calibration was needed to get the colours perfect. The only frustration thing is that every time I look to my second monitor I get a shock at how badly that one reproduces colours compared with this Samsung one lol. I would highly recommend this monitor, i am even considering a second one when I can afford it.

Great Panel - Point deducted for back cover

I deducted a point as the back cable cover broke on the first install (it's still on, but the outer 2 plastic clips on the upper section are now gone), and no replacement was available to buy when I used the live chat on this website. I would recommend any buyers take care when installing that pane. On to the positive, I came from a 24 inch 144hz Acer XB241H and I was blown away when I upgraded. Questioning why I didn't upgrade sooner. I normally keep the settings dialled back to try and hit higher frame rates. But for perspective, I don't find it awful to run Cyberpunk 2077 on my 2080ti at recommended settings which hits anywhere between 45-70fps so the variable refresh rate works. I don't find myself noticing too much choppiness even when the fps tanks in areas with alot of lighting.

Best Monitor I Have Had

Very Happy with my purchase. The monitor hasn’t given me any problems so far and the colours pop. The only thing I would change is the virtual aim point. There needs to be an option for just a small dot in the centre.

Fundamentally flawed, buyer beware

The 'jog' button on these monitors is fundamentally flawed, and doesn't work reliably from factory. Updating the firmware has not addressed the issue. The jog button provides access to the entire menu system including powering on and off the monitor. It just flat out does NOT WORK 50% of the time (yes it's very intermittent). If you like to toggle between inputs, you will find yourself locked out of one or the other at times as the jog button just does nothing. Same with turning the monitor off, you just can't. I need to send the monitor off for appraisal to be 'repaired' apparently, but my hesitation is that it was like this out of the box, and google 'Samsung Odyssey G7 toggle issues' and you will see how wide-spread an issue it is. This flaw is such a show stopper I can't rate the monitor more than 1 star for anything - if you can't turn it on, off, or change inputs how useless is that?
