Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone review: more is not always better

Samsung's Galaxy S?III is a very sweet Android smartphone , arguably the best of its generation. So you have to wonder what Samsung could do to meaningfully push the envelope in the Galaxy S?4 now available at some carriers (Sprint and AT&T) and soon to be offered at others (Verizon Wireless and...

Samsung Galaxy S4 review

Samsung's flagship is a real beauty. It feels good, looks smart and does more than previous smartphones have. On the other hand, just as most people only scratch the surface of the capabilities of their home computers, settling for email, word processing and a little light gaming, there are going to...

Range of innovations; Super fast processor; Great battery life

Too many gimmicks; Too big for some; Design lacks class

Samsung Galaxy S 4 in-depth review -

Look and feel Slim and sleek. Although the plastic build doesn't scream 'premium', but it keeps the phone light and it still looks gorgeous and feels great in the hand. Ease of Use One of the most fluid uses of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean we have seen yet, and the changes to Samsung's TouchWiz interface...

Enlarged and improved screen; innovative features; great camera; strong battery life

Sheer number of options can be overwhelming; design is not wildly different to the S III; plastic body is off-putting to some

Samsung Galaxy S4 review

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is now two and a half years old, and not only was it replaced by the Korean firm's 2014 flagship offering, the Galaxy S5 , but the Samsung Galaxy S6 has also been on the market since March this year. That means that the Galaxy S4 is now feeling a little long in the tooth.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Review

The is so powerful and offers such great performance, that you feel it should be a bigger device. It does all that the S III does, in a smaller package. And it brings more to the table with useful and fun extra features. It's a thrilling insight into the future of smartphones.

Bigger and better screen; exciting features; great snapper; excellent battery life

There are so many options they can be overwhelming; design is similar to the S III; plastic body may not be to everyone's taste

Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Review

For those looking at the photographic abilities of the S4, there is clearly an increase in the image quality from the . You can now also shoot at a higher fps rate and the screen is now full 1080p HD and 5.0 inches in size.

Decent range of modes and filters; Fast shutter speeds are possible; Very good panoramas

Struggles to expose properly under fluorescent lights

Samsung Galaxy S4

It's one of the most anticipated handsets of the year, it's the follow-up to one of the best-selling phones of last year, and it has been hyped to the extent that Samsung is starting to look like it's going to teach Apple a thing or two about generating anticipation.

A brilliant phone in almost every way; subtly better design than SGS3; loads of new gesture and eye-tracking features; powerful

A bit complex now; incredibly expensive; not a huge leap from the SGS3; battery life is still bad

Samsung Galaxy S4 review

The Galaxy S4 showcases the best and worst of Samsung, featuring a great display, speedy processor and number of useful productivity apps that are let down by poor build quality, battery life and a bloatware-infested Touchwiz user interface.

Great display; fast; some useful software additions

Poor build quality; Touchwiz is full of bloatware; battery could be better

Samsung Galaxy S4 review

The simple truth is that the Galaxy S4 and high-end rivals the HTC One and iPhone 5 are all excellent, highly recommended phones. The One and iPhone 5 have stronger design points of view with focused, flagship features. The HTC One is about Blinkfeed, Watch, and Zoe.

A blinding number of features; Incredibly fast; Ships with Android 4.2.2; Relatively small for its display size

Plastic body; Low light photo performance isn't so hot

Brill phone

The phone is absolutely brilliant, can even be controlled by voice, hand and eye movements! Does everything you would ever need. Only downside is the price but its to be expected for a product like this.
