Packaging: The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes in a different packaging when compared to earlier Galaxy S series smartphones. It comes in a brown coloured eco-friendly box with wooden texture and the content on it is printed using soy ink which is also eco friendly.
What's the formula for success? Clearly, Samsung knows a thing or two about this, having followed a similar strategy for its Galaxy S, S2 and S III smartphones – each model a bigger success than its predecessor.
The Galaxy S4 is the fastest selling Samsung smartphone with 10 million units sold a month after its release. The handset has the tag line Life Companion, which is something you can't ignore as it's displayed on the lock screen, no matter what wallpaper you choose.
The total solar eclipse 2017 is fast approaching. August 21 marks the first total solar eclipse in the US in 38 years. The last one occurred on February 26, 1979. On August 21, the moon will cross paths with the sun, causing a total solar eclipse for part of the US.
Samsung is already on its fourth iteration of its highly popular and successful Galaxy S line. It is now pretty obvious that the Galaxy line made Samsung the No. 1 smartphone brand worldwide. With competition inching closer, the question remains if Samsung can maintain the wide lead.
* Top-notch performance; * Very high display resolution; * Great camera performance and features; * High-speed LTE connectivity; * NFC functions and features; * IR Blaster; * Good battery life
* More gimmicky features and bloatware
You can still buy a Samsung Galaxy S4, but the smartphone world has moved on and you can do much better these days
Verdict Great phone two years ago, but other models offer lighter, larger more innovative models
Powerful hardware; quality screen; great camera
Plastic cover; confusing features; lack of standout features that are truly practical
Summary: With the Galaxy S4, Samsung has squeezed a superb 5-inch screen and a host of high-end features into a slightly slimmer, thinner and lighter chassis than its S III predecessor. It's an excellent handset, but some will find the S4 overladen with unnecessary features and too expensive.
Fabulous 5-inch screen; Packed with high-end features; LTE and 802.11ac Wi-Fi support; HDMI-out via Micro-USB with MHL support; Surprisingly good battery life
Expensive; Many of the proximity- and gesture-based features feel gimmicky; Limited internal storage (16GB) on review unit
The S 4 is not the perfect phone, but it's a damn fine improvement over the S 3. I haven't even mentioned that Samsung now has a two-year water damage warranty which comes free with every S 4 – the phone really is your life companion and Samsung wants to ensure that nothing happens to it.
