Samsung Galaxy S21 FE review: Back to the past future
Is the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE relevant in 2022? One year after the release of the vanilla Galaxy S21 that can be purchased for the same price, and also unveiled just a few weeks before the launch of the technically superior Galaxy S22, this is one particular question that needs addressing.- Bright, smooth and responsive 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888 performance without overheating issues, Neat and modern design (despite all the plastic), Convincing wide-angle and 3x zoom camera module, Night Mode works great, 3 major Android versions and 4 years of security updates, IP68...
- Mediocre battery life, Archaic 25-watt fast charging, No microSD port or 3.5mm audio jack, Charger is not included in the box, Price is not competitive
Very complicated for an oldie (80)
nice case and presentation. Big screen available with large fonts. Very difficult for seniors to set up (at least this one!), but good videos on YouTube to help. Price Ok, free ear buds helped.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB, Graphite) AU - Pristine review
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is a great upper-mid-range phone
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB, Graphite) AU - Pristine review
A step below the flagship Galaxy S22 series in certain areas, but also significantly kinder to your bank account.- Quality cameras, Plenty of power on offer
- Dull colours, Only 25W charging
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB, Graphite) AU - Pristine review
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is the most affordable phone in the S21 series - its specs and features have been streamlined to keep the cost down. While it may not be as good value as we'd have hoped for it's still a very capable piece of kit with a decent camera, powerful processing and a long-lasting...- 6.4-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Premium chipset and specs, Decent camera system
- No charger in the box, Slow charging, Still quite expensive
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB, Graphite) AU - Pristine review
So… where does that leave the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. If you’re looking at the phone in a vacuum, it’s a pretty spectacular device. The issues really only come to light when the $699 sticker price comes into play.- Performance, Display, Cameras, Battery life
- Price, Slow charging
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE review
While the S21 FE is a totally acceptable phone, it’s one plagued by timing issues. Not just that the camera is slow and that the battery could be better, but timing in the release. The Galaxy S21 FE should have come out last year.- Nice to hold, Good screen, Supports 5G, Includes wireless charging, Water resistant, Technically good value
- Camera can be slow to fire, Battery isn't amazing, The release timing is downright terrible, given the S22 and the obvious price drops of the S21
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB, Graphite) AU - Pristine review
You should probably buy the Pixel 6 instead- Big, high refresh rate screen, Good telephoto camera, Great software support policy
- Fast charging brick costs extra, Arrives late in the S21-series product cycle
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE review
On paper, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is a fine mid-range phone, with adequate features like an attractive screen, powerful processor and capable cameras for those looking for a handy, less expensive mobile. However, the launch price is still far too high for what you get, not to mention issues like slow charging speed, laggy software and an unimpressive battery life.- Vibrant display
- Lots of processing power
- Slender design
- Far too expensive
- Takes a long time to charge
- Unimpressive battery life
Samsung's Galaxy S21 FE Is Great. Just Don't Pay Full Price
This top-end Android smartphone arrives at an awkward time.- Great performance. Reliable and versatile cameras. Day-long battery life (and a little more). Bright, 120-Hz AMOLED screen. Wireless charging, 5G, IP68 water resistance. Great software support.
- Awkward timing
- the Galaxy S22 is just around the corner. No MicroSD card slot.
