With smartphone companies focusing on getting large display experiences, I almost forgot what it was like to hold something that fitted snugly in my hands. Enter the Samsung Galaxy S10e ! A phone that is just the right size, cuts just the right corners and does ALMOST everything right.

I have never been a fan of Samsung, but I will say that the S10e is an all around awesome phone. I love the size of this phone it feels very solid in the hand. The UI is very quick compared to some of my previous experiences with Samsung.

After launching three smartphones in the ‘S Series' in 2015, Samsung has been launching only two ‘S Series' flagships starting with the Galaxy S7 in 2016, but this year the company launched the Galaxy S10e along with the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ .

It's been about two months since I reviewed the Galaxy S10E, Samsung's best-value buy among the S10 phones, and I'm still just as sold. While it may seem downright boring compared to the 6.7-inch, quad-camera S10 5G or the bendable Galaxy Fold, the S10E is also much more of a sure thing, and reliability is a pretty universally chart-topping trait when it comes to buying a new phone. The S10 5G will only be as fast as its supporting networks, and... well, you know all about the Galaxy Fold's screen issues.

The Galaxy S10E is a terrific value for a compact, powerhouse phone, although it can't beat the OnePlus 6T's $550 price.

A dream come true for value shoppers who love small phones; The Galaxy S10E shares the S10's core camera and Snapdragon 855 chipset, so photos and speed are excellent; Battery life and wireless power sharing are also spot-on; Its fingerprint reader and flat screen solve minor problems with the pricier S10 and S10 Plus.

Lefties and people with small hands may find the fingerprint reader placement a tad inconvenient; The indented shape makes taking screenshots feel odd.

Can you put a price on screen resolution, battery capacity and a zoom lens? Samsung can - it's £130. That's currently the difference between the S10e and full-fat S10 if you buy SIM-free direct from Samsung. Go for a contract deal from a major UK network and you're looking at a difference of just a few pounds a month to step up to the main event. Right now you've got to really want a shorter screen to go for the S10e, which is a shame - bigger isn't always better, and in some ways we actually prefer this smaller handset to the phone with which it shares a name. At launch, the S10e isn't quite cheap enough to be the affordable S10 alternative Samsung pitches it as - but hopefully with a discount or two, it could become a midlife bargain later down the line.

Samsung released three versions of the , The Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10e. The 10+ and 10 just differ in sizes of the display and battery and while the S10e is the smallest of the three there are a few more things that make it different from the other S10 models.

On the heels of the Google Pixel 3a and OnePlus 7 Pro launches, it is appropriate to consider whether spending $1,000+ on a smartphone is a justifiable purchase. Before making the leap to a Galaxy S10 Plus at $1,000, you could save $200 and go with a Galaxy S10e .
