Easy to use, sounds good!

I was very impressed with these low-cost microphones. I used them to record an in-home piano recital where I wasn't able to place the microphones optimally (I didn't want guests to bump into mic stands).

Transparent!

Yes, I know this is probably one of the most over-used clichTs used when describing a microphone, but if any mic fits the bill, the NT5 pair certainly does. Some say that the NT5's are a little dark.

Rode NT5

The Rode NT5 is priced well and affordable for a good mic.. This cost me less than half of the amount of the expensive equipment that I had and I have better recordings out of the Rode NT 5 and TC Electronics Desktop Konnekt 6.

Great Sound at an Affordable Price

I primarily use this mic on acoustic guitars, but it also works great on the bottom snare or as an overhead for drums. This microphone has such a vibrant, yet clean sound that has had a huge impact on my recording quality. I have also used the Rode NT1-A and have had great success with both.

The Rode NT5 is a pencil style condenser mic with low noise specs and full frequency response from 20hz to 20K. Because they come as a pair they are ideal for placement in front of groups of vocals or instruments, and as drum overheads but of course you can use them individually in countless other...

Avoid the piano ...

Given the plethora of opinion, we will not repeat ... OVERALL OPINION I just spent a whole week at 12 hours a day to try to make it sound.

An excellent microphone for the price. Great sounding, and good clarity. I generally use mine for 'found sound' type recordings so I haven't tested it fully on everyday instrumentation, but I am confident that it would perform well.
