Roccat first came to my attention a few years ago at one CeBIT trade show in Hannover before the company came to these shores. The kit looked good and offered some neat touches. This far down the line though, has it managed to fulfil all its Germanic promise with the release of the Kone mouse?

First off, I have to state that I was one of the unlucky to get an early run version of the mouse. The initial batch of mice had an issue with the middle scroll click breaking due to poor engineering. From what I understand, they have fixed the issue and are replacing any broken units.

Our excuses to play games - er, sorry, we meant our extensive product testing exercises have proven that the Kone gave us fast, accurate control whether we're trying to frantically command our armies in RTS games or aiming for headshots in first-person shooters.

It's rare for a company to burst on the scene with an endless stream of excellent products. Normally they have one great idea, form a company and then, like a rock band, have the sophomore slump of trying to follow it up.

The Kone has earned itself a spot among our favourite gaming mice, Roccat proving it's got what it takes. Recommended.

The Roccat Kone+ is an updated version of the original Kone, so it already has made a name for itself on the market. The upgrade brings the model back to the top of the game, with its 6000 DPI sensor and some other tweaks.
