The Razer Kraken Tournament Edition brings with it 50 mm drivers, a USB controller, retractable microphone, cooling-gel ear cups, and of course that Razer style we all know and love.
– Solid construction; – Extremely comfortable; – Great sound quality & THX Spatial Audio; – Game / Chat balance on audio controller; – Can be used on different devices (3.5mm audio connection; – Good software; – Price
– Microphone quality not the best; – Not that easy to travel with
There's something about a bright green headset that automatically puts me off. It's obviously personal preference, but if I had the cho...
Beautifully comfortable; Excellent audio quality; Versatile
Some odd design choices; Software isn't always straightforward
With an online price from around $150AUD (December 2018), Razer have released another new gaming headset with their Kraken Tournament Edition that comes with a wealth of features and boasts decent audio quality to help transport you into these virtual gaming worlds.
The Turtle Beach Elite Atlas feels slightly more luxurious, but its audio tuning sounds less balanced. If you'd like to save a bit of money on your wired headset, the Astro Gaming A10 is still a strong recommendation at $60.
Solid, comfortable build; Sturdy fabric-wrapped cables; THX simulated surround sound
Somewhat weak highs
This headset is probably the best one I've purchased the only problem I have encountered was the sensitivity of the microphone to wind and how the THX box doesn't work on console but both were easily resolved
Works great, nice sound and microphone works great.
The Razer Kraken Tournament Edition is one of Razer's latest offerings in its wired headphones line. For myself, headphones are generally a hit or miss, with a few must-haves that I have come to expect from them.
Good audio; Comfortable; Smart design
Not outstanding in any area
This headset is great. The mic gets a lot of complaints but it's one of the best ive ever used for sure. It's comfortable and doesn't heat up/get sweaty, and I love the amp. The audio driver is also really great.
Razer's Kraken Tournament Edition combines a standard 3.5mm headset with a USB control box, giving it THX capabilities and nifty on-the-fly bass EQ.
Earcups feature cooling gel; still a neat gimmick; Lightweight; durable; and comfortable; Finally Razer builds a control box worth using
Razer's sound quality is still average at best; Some of the in-line controls are redundant; Cable is way too long for everyday use
