Razer Ifrit Review

Over the past few years, streaming has become a massive industry. Watching your favourite internet personalities dabbing away in Fortnite or opening lootboxes in Overwatch is nearly as common as gaming itself, so it's no surprise that peripherals have arrived on the scene to support such pastimes.

Lightweight design; Earphones are durable and sound excellent; Audio Enhancer is a neat device

Feels uncomfortable and cheaply made for the price; Lack of customisation and ugly base aesthetic

A unique gaming headset – The Razer Ifrit Streaming Headset review

I have been on what seems like an eternal quest to find the perfect gaming headset for the last year and a half when my current one started showing signs of aging. And by signs of aging, I mean it's pretty much falling apart.

Lightweight; you can barely tell you're wearing a headset; Great sound; Microphone that is crisp and clear

A lot of wires that tangle easily; making it hard to take on and off quickly; Can feel a little loose; as it only rests on the top of your ears

It’s even more appealing for duos who want to record together, thanks to an included USB sound card with two headset jacks for simultaneous audio playback and capture. It's disappointing, therefore, that the headset's sound and mic quality simply don't live up to its $99.99 price, especially compared with other models from Razer.Design The Ifrit headset is a simple black plastic headband that wraps around your ears and the back of your head like backwards glasses. Individual earphones on short, five-inch wires extend from just behind the ear hooks, ready to pop into your ears. An eight-foot wire terminating in a four-pole 3.5mm plug runs down from...

The Razer Ifrit is a unique in-ear headset that includes a USB sound card that lets two gamers plug in for recording, but its audio performance doesn't quite measure up to the competition.

Clever design; Balanced sound; USB sound card supports two headsets at once

Doesn't offer much bass power or treble finesse; Microphone isn't quite as clean as similar headsets; No Razer Synapse support for adjusting levels
