Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

We spent a couple of weeks with the Razer DeathAdder Elite running everything from FPS, RPG, MMORPG and strategy games. Razer Synapse, a familiar tool in our box, helped to customize the side keys and let us program macros as needed.

16,000 DPI; 1000Hz UltraPolling; Braided Cloth Cord; 5G Sensor; Up to 450 IPS / 50 g acceleration; On The Fly DPI Adjustment; Precision

Synapse Updates Too Often (Requires Reboot); Not Big Hand Friendly; No On-board Memory For Fast Profile Switch; Price/Feature Deficit

Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

With the Deathadder Elite, Razer comes in at a bit of a disadvantage because most of the Deathadders in the past have been good, so the expectation is that it continues being a good mouse. Because I know things like the shape are good, I spent more time looking at other details for issues.

Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

While designated as a gaming mouse, the DeathAdder Elite is just as at home surfing the web and crunching spreadsheets as it is fragging it up on the latest FPS thanks to it’s comfortable yet simple design. It doesn’t sit too high and feels very natural in the hand.

Razer Basilisk Review: The FPS Mouse Reinvented

The Razer Basilisk boasts a comfortable feel, intuitive software and reasonable price, in addition to an innovative clutch that's a bit of an eyesore.

Comfortable design; Innovative clutch; Useful HyperShift feature; Handy thumb rest

Software still in beta; Not as attractive as other Razer mice

Razer are pumping out new gaming mice faster than ever before. The latest addition to their line-up is the Basi

Comfortable design with an excellent sensor; Customizable sniper clutch is the best implementation of this feature yet; Adjustable scroll resistance

Only trivial issues

Razer Basilisk FPS Gaming Mouse Review

Razer Basilisk is not really an upgrade from a DeathAdder Elite (if you already own it), that is because it is equipped with the same Razer 5G Optical Sensor that offers the highest accuracy on a Razer Gaming Mouse at this point.

Razer Basilisk review: A great FPS mouse that competes with Razer's other great FPS mouse

The Razer Basilisk's thumb clutch and unconventional shape are winners, but is it really a better FPS mouse than the DeathAdder Probably not.

Adjustable thumb "clutch" easier to use than any sniper button; Comfortable thumb rest area; PWM3389 sensor closely related to the familiar PWM3360

Unconventional shape might dissuade some; Scroll wheel resistance is adjustable; but hard to get set properly; Beta version of Razer Synapse is still...

Razer Basilisk review: A great FPS mouse that competes with Razer's other great FPS mouse

The Razer DeathAdder is renowned the world over for its ergonomic shape, its high-end sensor, its light weight. For many first-person shooter fans in particular, it's the mouse, the perfect way for them to communicate sweeping hand movements into game-winning feats of excellence.

Good luck finding the drivers!

Christmas present, tried to install it so I can use the extra bits on it. Go to Razer site, one whole section "support" is unavailable. Good luck on the adventure trying to find the drivers for this overpriced block of plastic.

Razer Basilisk Mouse Review

Having previously given Razer's DeathAdder Elite KitGuru's ‘Must Have' award, you can bet I was excited to get hands-on with the company's latest mouse – the Basilisk. The Basilisk is an entirely different beast to the DeathAdder, however – and please excuse the pun.

Thumb rest is a good addition; DPI clutch is much more convenient than a standard sniper button; Adjustable scroll wheel; Flawless performance

Ergonomics are let down by the flat right-hand side; Software support for Razer products is currently split between two versions of Synapse; which is not only a bit confusing but means Chroma sync won't work across all devices
