Razer Basilisk Review

The Basilisk is a mouse that specifically targets FPS gamers. In fact, Razer boldly calls it the ‘world's most advanced FPS gaming mouse'. As a result, it's not as button-heavy as other options in its roster, although its eight programmable buttons mean it can still do some heavy lifting in this...

Razer Basilisk review: A great FPS mouse that competes with Razer's other great FPS mouse

The Razer DeathAdder is renowned the world over for its ergonomic shape, its high-end sensor, its light weight. For many first-person shooter fans in particular, it's the mouse, the perfect way for them to communicate sweeping hand movements into game-winning feats of excellence.

Razer tries some new ideas to court FPS players, but their effectiveness depends on the user.

Is this the one I often wonder how comfortable a mouse can get, and the Razer Basilisk certainly makes itself known in this department. Sporting a black chassis, the gaming mouse looks sleek but asymmetrical. The left side in particular has a thumb rest protruding quite obnoxiously.

Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

Razer's hardware strikes a lot of the right notes and Basilisk is also one of the company's first mice to take advantage of the Synapse 3 software utility currently in beta. Although optional - the mouse can be used as a plug-and-play solutions - the software opens the door to a wide range of...

Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

With the Deathadder Elite, Razer comes in at a bit of a disadvantage because most of the Deathadders in the past have been good, so the expectation is that it continues being a good mouse. Because I know things like the shape are good, I spent more time looking at other details for issues.

Razer Basilisk Multi-colour Ergonomic Gaming Mouse RZ01-02330100-R3A1 review

While designated as a gaming mouse, the DeathAdder Elite is just as at home surfing the web and crunching spreadsheets as it is fragging it up on the latest FPS thanks to it’s comfortable yet simple design. It doesn’t sit too high and feels very natural in the hand.
