I have been using this little preamp for a number of weeks now and I now feel somewhat qualified to give my mini review. The Pro-Ject Phono Box E is sold in a very plain looking box and I do wonder if they restyled the packaging whether they would sell more instore? The preamp itself is smaller and lighter than I was expecting. It is very discreet and you should have no problems finding a space for it. It is easy to hook up however I had a lot of problems eliminating hum. The basic instructions offered no solutions that helped me. I have not experienced any problems with grounding my turntable before, so is the ground on the Pro-Ject preamp actually doing anything? Eventually I solved the hum problem by running the ground wire from my turntable to the preamp and then another wire from the preamp to the metal chassis of my receiver. After that I have had no problems. I must mention that Pro-Ject advertises that the terminals are gold plated. They aren't. They look to be nickel plated br
