Polaroid OneStep2 Viewfiner i-Type Camera - Graphite 9009 review

Well, this camera needs no introduction. While using some high-quality lenses paired with a handful of features, it steals the show. Sharp and detailed photography is what you can expect from it. Plus, it comes with several accessories for a reliable experience.

Comes with a decent built-in flash, Very easy to use; just point and shoot camera, Features high-end Polycarbonate and Acrylic lenses, Several useful accessories also included in the package, Has a self-timer function with high-quality 1300mAh lithium-ion battery

Several users reported faulty product; Film needs to be purchased separately

Polaroid OneStep 2 review

The OneStep 2 is fun, no doubt. Is it a great camera? Nah, not really. It’s that little bit too awkward to use, and the ‘unique’ photos it takes are more arty than accurate. If it’s quality you’re after, a Fuji Instax is still your best bet - it simply takes sharper, more defined photos. It also costs less, and a pack of film works out at about 50p per shot, too - not the £2 seen here. Although yeah, they are admittedly half the size. The Lomo'Instant Automat is more expensive, but has attachments and accessories that make it more flexible - and while the photos it takes are smaller again, they have a similar retro look to them. For the sheer fun factor, though, the OneStep is recognisable, takes some of the largest instant photos around, and is undeniably simple to use. If you can stomach the cost of film, the camera itself is pretty reasonable first step into instant.

Funky retro looks; Simple controls; Photos look ‘arty’;

Polaroid's OneStep 2 goes back to move instant film forward

Everything analog is new again.

The first instant film camera under the new Polaroid Originals brand, it's a pure analog point-and-shoot.

Polaroid OneStep 2 review

The OneStep 2 might not take the absolute best instant photos out there, and the blocky design won’t please everyone. But if you want to make sure your polaroids really are Polaroids, this is the camera for you.

Polaroid Originals OneStep 2 Review

The Impossible Project rebranded itself as Polaroid Originals late last year, launching new film (at a lower price point) and an affordable instant camera, the OneStep 2. Styled after the Polaroid cameras your remember from the '80s, it's a big departure from the company's last attempt at a modern instant camera, the Impossible I-1. At a third of the price, and without nearly as much tech inside, the OneStep 2 is a pure point-and-shoot instant camera for a reasonable $119.99. But it's held back by film that's still expensive and not as good as the competing Fujifilm Instax format. Design The OneStep 2 boasts a retro design, with the angled back, big red shutter button, and rainbow Polaroid logo you'd expect to see on a vintage model. It's available in white or graphite, and we received the latter for review. I prefer the bold, bright look of the white model a bit more than the understated, dark gray finish of the graphite version. Similar Products Lomog...

The Polaroid Originals OneStep 2 is a basic instant camera that shoots in the classic square Polaroid 600 format, but film is expensive.

Easy to use; Low up-front cost; Simple, one-button operation; Black-and-white film is quite good; Multiple exposures possible; Easy USB charging

Pricey color film delivers inconsistent results; No long exposure support

Polaroid OneStep 2 review

Faux leather wraps, silver trim, and mechanical control dials bring a vintage look to some modern digital cameras — but those trends look like costume jewelry next to the Polaroid Originals OneStep 2. Designed after a 1970s era camera, the OneStep 2 both looks and shoots like a vintage Polaroid camera, spitting out the same instant film with that classic border. But the OneStep 2 adds a handful of modern conveniences to the classic style, like a rechargeable battery, built-in flash, and — the epitome of post-2010 era camera — a selfie timer. Unlike digital cameras with a built-in Zink printer, the OneStep 2 uses actual instant film that generates that organic, imperfect look without relying on a wannabe digital filter. But the 1970s aren’t for everybody. Even with its modern refinements, the Polaroid OneStep 2 remains a very old-school camera that lacks the convenience and quality of modern digital cameras. Whether the experience is enjoyable or frustrating depends on who is shooting i...
