Pikmin 3 Deluxe Review

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is yet another stellar adventure that will find a welcome second home on Nintendo Switch, and I sincerely hope that it attracts both newcomers and hardcore fans alike.

A delightful return for an underrated Wii U classic ; Pikmin are both adorable and horrifying in equal measure ; Strategy gameplay is suitable for both hardcore fans and newcomers ; Olimar's new missions are a welcome bit of a new content ;

A fairly barebones port if we're being brutally honest ; Camera and lock-on system can still be fiddly at times ;

Pikmin 3 Deluxe review: A lost classic gets the Nintendo Switch treatment

Pikmin 3 got buried amid the wreckage of the Wii U, but this Deluxe version for the Switch shows what a brilliant game it was.

Great structure; Sense of a storyline; Impossibly cute; Highly tactical; Strangely it's emotionally involving; Loads of replay value;

Not the longest of games; Deluxe edition extras are disappointingly thin;

Pikmin 3 Deluxe (for Nintendo Switch) Review

Despite being nearly 20 years old, Pikmin still feels like a new Nintendo franchise, proof that the veteran game publisher can produce more than just Mario and Zelda. Maybe that’s because Pikmin’s quirky take on real-time strategy remains so novel, or maybe it's because the games take so long to bloom. Pikmin 3, the last game in the series, also had the misfortune of being a Wii U exclusive, a niche game on an even more niche console. Pikmin 3 Deluxe rectifies this by bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch along with some—but ultimately not many—new features and content.Strange Old World Don’t let the number in the title scare you off, you can easily jump into Pikmin 3 if you’ve never played a Pikmin game before. Arguably, this is the best place to start. The story stars a new, tiny trio scouring a lush, wild, alien planet for food to save their dying home world. To do so, they’ll pluck an army of Pikmin, cute and vulnerable plant-like insects capable of great feats when working...

Nintendo’s overlooked Pikmin series shines as the latest Wii U Port on Switch, though the core gameplay experience is largely unchanged.

Adorable, accessible real-time strategy gameplay; New difficulty modes and control options; Split-screen co-op play

New content mostly remixes old content; No online multiplayer; No touch-screen support

Fantastic real time strategy

A great entry in nintendos real time strategy series, the new much needed difficulty options and side stories featuring Olimar and Louie from previous games are a great addition. Don't worry about not playing 1 or 2 beforehand you can jump into this game as it centers on completely new characters than the first and second games it's also the easiest and most accessible pikmin so you don't have to be worried about being overwhelmed.

Cute game for kids.

Bought this game for our 6 year old son. He is quite captivated by it and enjoys working through the tasks. He is a good reader so doesn't require any help but kids who don't read well may need help with the reading aspects. Would not recommend for players who are more interested in fast action filled games.
