I had been using the Sigma 18-250 mm for several years. I wanted a little longer range and debated between the 18-300 and this lens. Many of the larger lens reviews pointed out some problem areas.

IT TOOK ME MONTHS TO DECIDE ON WHAT LENS I WANTED TO BUY FOR MY PENTAX K-30. I TOOK SIGMA 18-300 INTO CONSIDERATION, BUT IT WOULD NOT WORK TOTALY WITH THE BODY.EG:the distortion control and the lateral chromatic settings. I FIGURED I SHOULD STAY WITH PENTAX LENSES.
Excellent range and very good image quality throughout at all focal lengths considering what it covers. Balances well on the K5 IIs, not too heavy.
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus
