I bought this to use as a general purpose , walk around lens. It fits the bill perfectly. Great image as well as build quality. I was considering the 24 ~ 70. I am extremely happy with my choice . I use this lens with a Pentax K1-II.

Works for me as a basic lens on my Pentax Full Frame K1 camera. Easy to use and totally awesome picture quality. Quality solidly built lens. This is not cheap plastic construction. Fine optics for a lens in this price point.

Really nice lens gives really good results, has a non-rotating front element and a little trap door at the bottom for adjusting a polarizer in the lens hood. This will be my no 1 lens unless I want to go for extra wide or tele shots.

Only had limited use up to now, but very pleased so far. Purchased mainly as a lighter alternative to the monster 24-70 zoom for use with the Pentax K1, but haven't had much occasion to use the lens with that camera yet, so can't really comment on its performance full frame, especially edge...

Conclusions The Pentax HD D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6ED DC WR is a pretty standard example of a starter zoom lens. It delivers strong sharpness throughout most of the frame, but sacrifices edge performance and distortion control in order to achieve a 3.75x zoom range in such a compact package.
