Arguably the coolest phone brand among Android enthusiasts is OnePlus. It's both powerful and stylish, with a scarcity that makes it feel special. OnePlus, you may not know, has a lesser-known (in the US) sibling called Oppo. Oppo's phones are also worthy of your attention.

The Oppo R15 Pro is a terrific midrage phone, but it lacks the OnePlus 6's processing power, more interesting operating system and battery life.

The Oppo R15 Pro is a strong all-rounder, giving you solid cameras, battery life and power for a reasonable price; It also looks less like an iPhone than previous models, and it comes with a headphone jack.

Oppo's operating system is still a blatant iOS clone, and portrait photos can look washed out; They charge through the outdated Micro-USB port.

As someone who found the last two entries in Oppo’s R-series a little stale, the Oppo R15 feels like a breath of fresh air. Sure, the R7, R9 and R11 have all been solid devices that have emulated some of the strengths of Apple's iOS products without the caveat of having to buy into the company’s constrictive ecosystem.

The R15 Pro sees Oppo bring more of that flagship experience to the sub-$800 smartphone space than ever before to generous effect.

The Oppo R15 Pro is not quite perfect but it comes close

IP rating (new), great camera in most light conditions, cool body colours. It is very close to the flagship level but a few hundred dollars cheaper. It obviously appeals to the younger market – as much as I love Ruby Red or Cosmic Purple, it is not for me.

The Ruby Red color is a bonus along with the Vooc fast five-minute charge for 2 hours use. The speed camera or Al enhanced camera is great for those car trips where stopping is impossible.

Oppo's R15 Pro excels in some of the more significant areas, with an awesome screen, camera and performance, and if you're a fan of the contemporary glass-back design, then there are few handsets that pull it off as stylishly, thanks to its iridescent gradient.
