The OnePlus 10T has some alluring feathers in its cap, those being the great performance that it squeezes from the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset; the reality-defying speed of its 150W fast-charging; and its lush screen, which is particularly well-suited to running demanding video games.

Excellent performance levels, Great screen, Brilliant fast-charging, If you want a powerful smartphone with a great screen then this one delivers on both counts, in style.

Middling camera, Controversial design, No IP rating or wireless charging, If you love taking pictures with your phone then this might not be the best choice, as there are better camera phones for the price

The OnePlus 10T is a great value phone for the money, offering high performance specifications, a great display and at least one good camera for a very reasonable price. You do have to compromise a little on some areas, but it's still represents a very competitive phone for the cost.

The OnePlus 10T is a good phone at a cheaper price – one that undercuts most of its close rivals. But corners have been cut to reach that price, so how good it is will depend on what your priorities are. It genuinely charges so fast, it changed the way I thought about using it.

Pros: Slick performance, good software, reasonable battery life, sub-20 minute full charge, long battery longevity, decent screen, reasonable price.

Cons: no optical zoom, weak ultrawide camera, useless macro camera, no water-resistance rating, no alert slider makes it feel more generic, only four years of updates.

So at the top of this review, I stated that the Oneplus 10T doesn’t quite fit into the market anywhere in particular and some of my fellow reviewers have been struggling to find where it fits.

Although the OnePlus 10T was formally introduced on August 3 at a launch event in New York, pre-orders of the smartphone in North America will not be available until September 1, and open sales are expected to follow almost a month later on September 29.

The “T” phones from OnePlus have always been a bit odd. They always seem to come out just a few months after their recent flagship smartphone. Kind of cannibalizing those sales, but OnePlus also needs something new on the shelves for back to school and the holiday shopping season.

Technically, OnePlus didn’t go anywhere. Especially in Europe and India, it’s been very much present over the past few years, putting out midrange devices that perform better than their price points indicate. But in the US, it feels like the company hasn’t quite had the same profile in recent years.
