For close proximity uses it does the job. Personal use rather than servicing a room. It will keep a person cool whilst sleeping or at a computer. We use them near beds and computers. The 3-speed dial was loose on mine and needed to be glued. But I cant say this is the norm. A great fan to keep a person cool. And definitely worth the price. We specifically bought them for the purposes stated above.
