I was trying to choose between this camera and the D500. I am glad I went with the D7500 due to the lower cost and smaller package. I routinely take my camera on hikes and didn't want the extra weight and bulk.

This was a replacement of my D7000 which I was enamored with. The D7500 is a worthy heir to the throne of favorite camera.

Picked it up yesterday and traded in a couple of cameras. Did some test shots read pdf on line. Have used the D80 D300 D3300. This is an excellant camera in this price range. Very nice focus super fast to. Let me add to this a bit. First of all if you have a D7200 no you don't need to upgrade.
Picked up the Nikon D7500 bundle at Costco a couple of weeks back, just in time for a trip to beautiful Lake Tahoe California. Was very pleased with the photos I took while there. Crisp with nice color.
New from Nikon this year, the Nikon D7500 is awesome, there is no other word to describe it. This camera will, it seems, do just about anything and everything. If I say that the User Manual is over 360 pages long it will give you an idea of the learning curve you will embark upon with the D7500.
Bought as a replacement for my ageing D5000. I have used Nikon all the time, and have had no problems.

The Nikon D7500 is a solid performer that can tackle a number of different subjects with ease. The D7500 doesn't have the speed of the D500, but offers excellent performance for a lower price and offers excellent image quality from the APS-C category as well.
Excellent speed and performance; Solid image quality; Tilting LCD screen; Plenty of physical controls; 4K video; Weather sealing
No dual SD card slots; Bluetooth connectivity issues; Slightly lower resolution than the D7200
