Nikon D5300

Despite being an evolutionary upgrade to the D5200, the Nikon D5300 sports a newly developed 24.2MP sensor without an AA filter for enhanced sharpness, and Nikon's latest EXPEED 4 processor for better high ISO handling and 1080/60p HD video.

Excellent image quality similar to more expensive DSLRs (like the D7100); Great dynamic range; Responsive all-around performer; Excellent Full HD video-shooting quality; Built-in Wi-Fi with remote control and sharing features; Built-in GPS; Compact and lightweight size; 18-140mm kit lens performs...

AA-filterless sensor makes it more prone to moire; Burst speed slows with highest quality 14-bit RAW images; Live View mode not as good as some competitors; No external headphone jack; GPS receiver not very sensitive, Penta-mirror viewfinder not as big and bright as full pentaprism OVF, Glossy LCD...

went from D90 to D5300

My D90 bit the dust after ten years and the repair cost was the same as purchasing the D5300 (body only). I did not want to spend the amount needed to purchase a body that was in the same "category" as the D90 was.

Nikon D5300. Couldn't be easier

Really easy to use. Make sure you have a descent size memory card to prevent filling up too quick. 32GB at least

Easy to set up and start snapping pictures

None so far

Quality camera

Even though this is an older model entry level DSLR, it is more than capable of providing quality pictures and video, especially for beginners who are barely started

A total lie

they didn't send me what is specified in the product description. first it says is a new product, they send a opened camera and used. then it says that the camera comes with 2 lens, they just send me the 18-55mm lens in the openes camera box and no the 70-30mm lens.

Quality and satisfaction,joy to use.

Using the camera is a joy, fast focus, great pictures.Turn the photo review and video screen to manual not auto to preserve battery life. Also get the dual battery pack. The 18-140 is great for all around everyday shooting situtations in and outdoors.

Easy To Use; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD; Quiet; Tilt /Swivel LCD

No Complaints

The camera does excellent in low light situations which is the reason I chose it over other models. I was not a fan of the flip-out screen conceptually but I have found that I use it fairly often.

Great camera

Love the camera, my first DSLR. Thought about the Canon T5i or the T6i (still not out yet for some reason) but this camera is far and away better.

Learning curve coming from a Canon S100 point and Shoot

Quick delivery and a lot of great features.

This is nice compact camera with a lot of features that are easy to use. Anyone can take great pictures and look like pro, just use auto mode. I like swivel screen that let you take pictures from different angles. The only drawback is that Nikon should include lens hood with the kit.
