The Nikon D5300 is a new 24.2 megapixel DSLR camera with no optical low-pass filter that can record Full HD movies at 1080/50/60p with stereo sound and comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS.

When the Nikon D5300 was launched in October, Nikon was keen to stress that it was not a replacement for the Nikon D5200 or D5100. Rather, it was a continuation of the D5000 series, so neither the D5200 nor the D5100 would be discontinued.

Eleven months have passed between Nikon releasing their mid-entry-level D5200 and its replacement, the D5300. It might not sound like a long time, but the march of technological advancement means this latest release offers measurable improvements on the spec sheet.

Bought to replace my D90 on hikes and holidays; the lighter weight body, GPS, and the large mobile viewing screen are really useful. Quality is very good and the resolution is outstanding.

This is a great camera for a novice like me . I use the auto mode a lot whilst learning all the other settings this camera has. Sadly has no internal memory so mind your memory card. Would gladly give this 5 stars and highly recommend.

Lovely camera with great features. Good for all abilities with point and click facility and technical facilities if you feel able. Love it. Great photos. The WiFi function is really good to send your photos to social media
